Video/Podcast Response – Post to Discussion Board

The directions will remain the same for all 4 assignments but be sure to make a selection within the materials that pertain to the unit. You can verify with me if a podcast/video is appropriate, or you can check to make sure it fits the years and topics covered in your textbook. If you wish to use a podcast or video from another source, please verify with me that it is acceptable.

Choose a video to watch or a podcast to listen to that is appropriate for the designated unit. There may be some overlap with other chapters, but the primary focus should be covered in the chapters for that unit. I have provided a list and links at the end of this assignment.

Watch the video or listen to the podcast. Identify 3 things you learned from the video or podcast.

  1. Write a brief summary in your own words of the video or podcast (a paragraph or two), and list 3 things you learned. Be sure to proof your summary for spelling, grammar, etc. So, summarize the entire video or podcast (1-2 paragraphs) and then list (may be bulleted) three things you learned from the video/podcast (the highlights).
  2. Post your summary to the Discussion Board as an attachment or you may type directly on the discussion board. Label your post with the source that you used. You will need to post your assignment before you will be able to review other student’s posts to comment.
  3. Comment on another student’s post. You should be responding to a point made in their summary. Your comment should be at least 2 sentences in length and should not be a reference to how well they completed the assignment. Again, proof your submission. I will reopen the Discussion Board the day after your original post is due to allow you time to respond.
